Wide Birch Bark Ring

Description: 

The Paper Birch, slender and elegant, with its intensely white bark, is visible even in the dark of night. The tough outer wrapping of the tree is the bark from which American Indians fashioned their strong, lightweight bark canoes. These Native Americans, as well as early colonists and European herbalists, all agreed that birch leaves were therapeutic and all prescribed them for many disorders.

The leaves and twigs of some birches boast a spicy aroma and are used to make scented oil. Because of their singular beauty, they have been designated National Memorial Tree for Mothers and as such were planted on the Capitol grounds in Washington, DC.

Special Notes:

1) Due to its composition, this ring cannot be resized and requires additional care. Please be advised that rings with wide bands often fit more tightly than their narrower counterparts and select your size accordingly. 

2) To prevent deterioration of the hand-applied patina and discolouration of the bronze base, avoid washing or applying lotions or sanitizer to your hands whilst wearing the Wide Birch Bark Ring. Additionally, it is not advised to wear your Wide Birch Bark Ring while engaging in activities that  may cause your to sweat in excess.

As with other Silver Seasons pieces, it is advised to gently wipe the interior and exterior of your ring with a soft, damp cloth after wear, cleaning occasionally with a small amount of mild detergent. Be sure to rinse and dry thoroughly. Do not submerge or soak your Silver Seasons pieces in liquid.

Every item is carefully packaged in a branded white Magpie box with a grey satin or raffia ribbon. We do not ship items with a price tag.
