Inspired by the intricate elegance of the botanical, Michael Michaud uses a unique approach to create exquisitely detailed and beautiful jewellery. In a process similar to the traditional technique of lost-wax casting, Michaud takes actual leaves, petals and branches and carefully surrounds them in clay. When heated, a perfect mould is left as the plant matter burns away. Bronze casts are then made from the moulds, before being hand decorated. This necklace features a hand-painted orange blossom accentuated with a freshwater pearl.
